My First DSLR!!

1 min read
I can't even put it into words. I'm so ecstatic!! I've developed a passion for photography over the past 2 years, photographing everything that catches my eye. I've created images that are almost embarrassing to look at, in the beginning,. A lot of which I've left on my account, simply for the memories and as a reminder of how far I've come. I still have a VERY long way to go but I feel like my progression was strained by the fact that I've been limited to using my cellphone for my photography. I've exhausted it's capabilities and so after alot of saving I'm officially a proud owner of  a Nikon D3300 with an 18-55mm lense and a 55-200mm lense. My face has been glued to the manual all day long and I'm blown away by the capabilities and the difference a dslr truly provides. I could cry right now!!! For all of my photography friends and followers, If you have any tips or need to knows, I would be sooo appreciative to hear from you!! Cheers!! Have a beautiful night.

Drawing again

2 min read
Hello, hi, ello. So I've retrieved my creative spark. I come in waves. I know it's been a while since I've posted any drawings so I just wanted to give all my watchers a heads up that ideas are hitting me hard and pieces are being brain stormed. I also wanted to share a bit of great news. A U.K. company by the name of Lenny Lamb contacted me to collaborate my art into their beatifully woven blankets and wraps (for infants) They stumbled across my "Time Slips Away" drawing and asked my permission to use it. The posted a sneak peak of their layout of the blanket/wrap to their facebook. I was shocked to find close to a thousand likes and hundreds of comments. I made the deal, not for money but for recognition and to just share my work. I can't even put into words how happy I was to see all the feedback and surprised to find out that it was a controversial piece. There was even a commenter that extracted such a deep meaning from the piece that I hadn't even thought of. It's always been my dream to draw a piece that hits somebody in a meaninful way. Thanks again to all of you for your support!! Having your recognition, comments and support is what inspires me to keep sharing my art.

The Silence

1 min read
Hiding like the sun behind the clouds
Silent as the space between the stars that hang above
Waiting in that darkness is a world without your love
Anchored to our broken promises and lies
The rope slips and I fall into the sky
Into the silence in the space between the stars
Leaving me with open wounds that never turn to scars
My anchors tattered strands still tethered to your broken heart
Will winters time allow you to reel me back out of the dark
Or will I forever be lost in the silent space between the stars
In the darkness that envelopes me with wounds that will not scar

Sorry for the dramatic title but I need help. This one is for the photographers out there. I'm an amateur photographer and I managed to get myself booked for a wedding. I might be a little bit in over my head with this one. haha But anyway I'm working with a run of the mill, tiny little digital camera and I think I've pushed it to it's limits. But my client doesn't have a clue what I'm using she's only seen some of my photography. I think she will laugh her head off and tell me to go home if she see's what I'm working with. Not only that but there's no way that this camera is going to cut it for the job at hand. For one it takes 10 seconds for it to even snap a shot and I'm thinking a wedding isn't going to stop and go upon my camera's needs. So I've come to the realization that it's time to invest into a DSLR. Thing is though that I am living pay check to paycheck so my budget consists of a wopping $300 to spend on this new camera. I realize that -that's going  to limit me to buying an older model and probably off of amazon. So my dilemma is this. How old of a model should I go? Surely there must be something good and workable for under 300$ right? I just need a basic dslr I assume. If I can manage to make my 80 nikon cool pics do what it's done then I'm sure there has to be something for me. Basically I'm just looking for something with adjustable shutter speed, focus adjustments, macro capabilities and basically something that can just take good quality shots. Anybody know of a camera that's capable for this price and what brands or models I should get or stay away from? If you could let me know you would be saving my life!!! Thanks guys!!!

Edgar Allan Poe

1 min read
Hey guys, kinda found a flow again with drawing. It comes and goes, I guess. Thankfully, I found a love for photography to fill in those gaps. Anyway just wanted to give you guys a heads up that I will be working on a drawing dedicated to Edgar Allan Poe. He is one of my favorite writers and poets so I'm working on a collaboration of subjects that in turn will hopefully make you think of his works when you see it. Thanks again for all of your support, kind comments and faves! I appreciate all of it so much!!! Let's get this Friday morning over with, shall we?! xoxoxoxo <3 <3 <3
